Section 7, Diabetes Technology, of the Standards of Medical Care in Diabetes—2020 has been annotated to include the results of a 6-month randomized, multicenter trial of closed-loop control in type 1 diabetes further supporting the use of automated insulin delivery systems in adults with type 1 diabetes.

Recommendation 7.26 has been revised to read:
“Automated insulin delivery systems should be considered in adults with type 1 diabetes who have the skills to use them in order to improve time in range and reduce A1C and hypoglycemia. A These systems may also be useful to improve glycemia in children. B”
